Pear

Year. 2026
Technique. Acrylic on canvas
Format. 40 × 40 cm

Pear reflects on the relationship between art and commodity in the contemporary art market. The image of the apple is placed inside an ordinary plastic bag, creating a deliberate contrast between the cultural value associated with an artwork and the visual language of everyday consumption.

The bag turns the image into something that appears packaged, displayed and ready to be consumed, almost like an ordinary product. Through this simple intervention, the work questions the way art can sometimes be treated, circulated and perceived as a commodity, while maintaining the playful and ambiguous character of the image.
